Fitness Model and Author, Figure Competitor and Personal Trainer and owner of Laurie Delaney Fitness.


Laurie has been in the fitness industry since 1993, teaching, learning and applying what she knows to her clients and herself.  Since she received her Certification from the American Council of Exercise, she has also been Certified in YOGA, Pilates, Core Synergetics, BOSU Balance, Intensified Strength Training, Lifestyle Weight Management Consultant and as a Clinical Exercise Specialist. 

She applies her knowledge to her own training as well...look at the before and after picture of Laurie as you scroll down, and you will see that she wasn't born like this, it's hard work.  She believes everyone is capable of more than you give yourself credit to do and the secret is in the DECISION to do it.   With DEDICATION and DISCIPLINE to your program, you WILL achieve your fitness goals, guaranteed.  This is empowering!

Competition life is in her blood and she enjoys the journey...whether it's first place or not.   She began competing in 2000 in the Fitness Division, then moved into female Body Building and now competes in the Bikini and Figure Divisions.  Laurie competes with Fitness America, NPC, ABA, UNBA, WBFF and INBA/PNBA.  She sees competitions as a way to better herself and prove to women over 40 that you can not only be fit, but you can stand on stage and be proud of your hard work.  Her goal is to be one of the best female personal trainers in San Diego.

In this photo, I was just 31 years old.  My bodyfat was 23% and my weight was 123 lbs.  I did not eat very healthy at this point in my life and had not yet started training.  I did start training for my first show right after this photo was taken and with a healthy nutrition plan and dedication to my workouts 6 days per week with limited cardio
(20 min./session), I achieved amazing results in just 5 weeks, loosing 8% bodyfat and 10 lbs, weighing in at 113 lbs. for show day.  I won my very first show in my division (but that doesn't always happen.)  You should note as you look at my AFTER photo, that my bodyfat is still lower by 8%,  but my weight is not considerably less than my start weight.  That is due to added lean muscle mass through the years, which weighs more than fat.   I'm sure you've heard this before.

As mentioned above, my weight did not change significantly in this photo (122 lbs.), so it's not ALWAYS about your weight.  However, my bodyfat is still lower by 8% from when I first started training.   I am 43 in this photo and have now been working out  and competing since age 31.  It's a lifestyle, not a diet.  I still workout 6 days per week.  When I'm not competing, I try to be 90% good 90% of the time to maintain lean muscle and keep my bodyfat low.
